More of Mimi's Garden

A Glimpse of Mimi's Garden

One of our favorite things to do is looking at and smelling all the flowers in Mimi's garden. So while we were home this trip I made sure I took lots of pictures. Mimi has always had the most beautiful flowers planted all over in her yard. She spends many hours and loves to tinker in the garden. I did forget to get a picture of her sitting in her chair in the yard. Darn! I will have to go back and who know's what will be in bloom then. :-)

A little bit of country...

When we go to Grams & Gramps house there are a few things that the kids LOVE to do and you can guarantee the kids will be doing!!! Riding Gramps 4-wheeler, looking for & catching toads, watching deer in the feilds, are just a few things they love about the country, or what I call the "boonies"!!! See even "city" girls can ride 4-wheelers and get a little dirty. Ethan's catch of the day! At least now I can talk him into letting them go! Chloe & Uncle Pete on the 4-wheeler. Well I was shocked that she got on with him, she is a Daddy's girl and normally won't do anything unless it is with him. These are some of the best times we have and look forward to doing them everytime we go home to IL.

A Loving Tribute to a Very Special Grandmother

Dave did a wonderful job at Grandma Reeves funeral. It was beautiful and I know that Grandma was very proud of him, we all were. We all have been truly blessed to know this lady. She was a amazing person and I know that we all will miss her so much and the times that we all have shared with her we will treasure them always. We will remember her love, her smile and her unforgettable laughter. She was a true servant of God and if everyone could just have a drop of her spirit this world would be a better place. I thank her for making our lives better and showing us what true love really is. We love you & miss you so much!!!

A Brother's Love

Dream BIG... Reach for the Stars

8th Grade is over!!! High school here we come!!! Congrats Courtnie!!! We are proud of you! Well in Texas they don't have a 8th Grade graduation, isn't that weird??? We had a BIG ceremony, wore prom dresses ( yes I had the southern belle style with the BIG hoop skirt,), walked across the stage and received a diploma. So several of us parents got together and surprised our kiddos by renting a Hummerzine for them to be picked up in on their last day of school and taken for ice cream and to Southlake Town Square for awhile. They were all soooo excited and had a great time except that the driver rushed them so they barely got to eat their ice cream because he thought he was suppose to take them to another mall. So they got freaked out alittle bit but he got them to the pool for their pool party. Which is another story! I guess I can plan to have alot of drama in my life with 2 teenagers!!! Congrats again we are proud of you for working hard and know that you will reach for the stars!!!

A change in our lives

For the last 1 1/2 years we have been focusing on God, Our church family & who God wants us to be. In the last few months there has been some major changes in our lives. Dave has truly become the Spiritual leader for our family, which has in turn made me have this passion in my life to be a better person, a better mother & a better wife. Just to have this change in my life is amazing! God has had this plan for us but we have been too stubborn to see it. My husband has changed & I love this man I am married too! My children have changed by seeing their parents being different people. My daughter's Kelsie(16) & Courtnie(14) have made us sooooo proud. At youth group last night they stood up an accepted Christ in their hearts again. They said they both are ready to follow Jesus & do what God wants them to do. This is such a AWESOME time for our family & I am glad I could share it with you all. Their little lights are shining! And I couldn't be more proud of them.
